BE-IIS-GMSL-SER
A camera-side serializer board that transports one CSI-2 camera stream over a GMSL2 coaxial link.
Overview
The BE-IIS-GMSL-SER connects directly to one compatible CSI-2 camera module through a 22-pin FFC/FPC connector. It converts the local CSI-2 image stream into a GMSL2 coaxial connection to a remote deserializer.
It is used together with the BE-IIS-GMSL2-2CAM or another compatible GMSL2 receiver.
Control and power
The serializer routes I²C control, camera reset and camera-enable signals through the GMSL2 link. This lets the Raspberry Pi configure the remote image sensor as though it were connected locally, after the serializer/deserializer aliasing sequence has been completed.
The coaxial cable can also carry Power over Coax in a compatible system design.
Integration notes
Use a compatible camera module and a correctly specified coaxial cable. The camera connector, lens, sensor address and power architecture are all part of the system configuration.
For two cameras, use one serializer board per camera and configure unique remote aliases. This is essential when identical image sensors are used on both links.
