Status: Draft. This specification is being published for discussion and technical review. It is not final; technical requirements and details may change. The document version and revision history are recorded in the PDF.

A common foundation for HAT++

HAT++ extends the Raspberry Pi HAT+ concept to support multiple expansion boards working together. Its aim is to combine different interfaces in one system and clearly document the rules required to do so.

The HAT++ specification is intended for hardware and software developers, manufacturers, and anyone interested in developing compatible boards or integrating HAT++ into their systems.

Independent implementations are welcome

HAT++ is intended to be implementable by other manufacturers. Compatible boards and independent implementations are expressly welcome.

The specification describes HAT++. It does not publish the source code of the BE-IIS MCU firmware or the internal BE-IIS toolchain. BE-IIS remains the separate brand and product offering of Brechel Electronic.
